Humahuaca to Tilcara

The Best ride so far....

We rode through multi-colored rock canyons, and past saguaro-like cacti, and the route was downhill most of the way.  If only everyday could be like this one on a ride.

After the blissful ride was done, we landed in Tilcara, another small tourist town set in the canyon.  There is a festival that happens througout January so there was a lot of energy in the air.  Also, again, there was some beautiful artwork and craftswork being sold in the street.  This town was cool.

We stayed at a hostel called Hostal De Los Colores.  We fell in love with the little kitten there and met some great Argentinians who stayed there as well. Camping was cheap and the faciilties was decent.

I unfortunately caught a stomach bug that night and was chained to my tent or to the porcelein.  Not a pleasant time.  I was a bit worried about how I was going to get back on the bike but luckily all was fine after 24 hours.

We hiked the the Garganta Del Diablo the following day.  On the way up a herd of goats took over the road.

It's an amazing canyon covered in brilliant carved out rock.  Hard to explain but a beautiful site. The waterfall at the end of the hike was is a great place to hang out nearby on a hot afternoon.  If I had more time, I would have liked to stay in Tilcara longer.

Found you!

Hey Ryan and MacKenzie,

We just found your blog - it's great to read and see all this!  I'm not sure I would ever go somewhere with big cactus, though...

Happy adventuring!  Stay well, have fun and keep posting!

Nice stalking job!

Nice internet stalking skills!  Sorry we didn´t get the blog address out to you sooner!  How is AZ going?  It rained today so I had crazy curly doll hair today and pyschotically puckered my lips thinking of Annette. Hope this finds you all well!!
